Passport to the Past activities will take both on the court house square and at the museum complex.  There is SO much to see in both locations you may want to plan to spend the entire day!

Planning is underway for the 2012 Passport to the Past acitivities during our annual Covered Bridge Festival held in beautiful Winterset, Iowa.

The theme for the 2012 festival is "The Stories of Madison County".  If you have a story or memory of Madison County, Iowa we invite you to record your story and send it to us.  Email Debbie at deb@historyonthehill.com or call 515-462-2134 for more information.

2011 Covered Bridge Festival went well and the weather was terrific.  We enjoyed all the activities including tractor shuttles, storytelling, crafts, performers, and the great Civil War Battle!

We are in the planning stages for 2012 and feel like "mixing things up" a bit with Passport to the Past activities!!  Be sure to check back once in awhile for updates! 

THERE WILL BE NO HORSE SHUTTLE IN 2011.

THE MADISON COUNTY HISTORICAL COMPLEX WILL PROVIDE A FREE TRACTOR SHUTTLE FROM THE FESTIVAL GROUNDS TO THE MUSEUM COMPLEX. The shuttle pick up location is the corner of 2nd Avenue and West Court Avenue. Limited parking is available on the grounds of the complex however we encourage you to park in one of the designated parking lots and ride the free bus shuttle to the festival grounds or the museum complex.

The annual Garage Sale fundraiser will be held Friday and Saturday, July 15th and 16th.  Sorry for any confusion on the change of dates.

We are taking donations NOW for the garage sale so as you do your spring cleaning, keep us in mind!  All donations will receive a letter of appreciation which will serve as your tax deductable receipt.
